Creating a project

Before you start

Decide on a project ID. It must be 3 to 10 characters and unique within the space. You can change it later.

Procedure

This article covers the empty-plan route.

LYNX-X opens on the Home screen. Everything to do with projects sits under Portfolio, in the middle group.

Select Portfolio, then Project list.
Select New project.

The Project properties dialog opens on the General tab.

In Project ID, enter the identifier. LYNX-X confirms the entry with Valid ID once it is long enough and not already in use.
In Description, enter the project name. This is the name the project list displays.
Leave Status as Not started unless the work is already under way.
Select OK.

Expected outcome

The project appears in the project list with the ID and name you entered, a status of Not started, and no CCPM figures yet. Those appear once the project has a plan and has been released.

Open the project and it contains no tasks. LYNX-X offers a link to add the first one.

Additional information

Note
Shared with stays empty and cannot be edited while you are creating the project. The dialog says so directly: shares can only be changed after the project is saved. Create the project first, then reopen its properties to share it.

Troubleshooting

Problem	Resolution
OK does nothing and the ID is not accepted.	Check the message beside Project ID. The ID must be 3 to 10 characters and must not already exist in the space.
The new project is not in the list.	The list may be filtered. Select Show all, or check the Status filter at the top right.
