Before you start
- Know which skill or resource you need to look at. This article covers finding and editing what already exists, not planning a new skill structure.
Procedure
Find who implements a skill
Open Configuration, then select Skills. The list answers this for most skills without opening anything: each row carries the skill's type and the resources that hold it.
Where a skill has more than one resource, the list names the first and summarises the rest as 2 more assigned resources. To see all of them:
- Select the skill.
- Open the Resources tab. It asks "Which resources implement this skill?" and lists them.
A Virtual skill normally shows no resources here. That is expected, not a fault. Its capacity comes from Skill availability, a count rather than a list of people, which is the whole point of the type. You can assign a resource to a Virtual skill, but LYNX-X will never propose one, so nothing in the product will fill this in for you. See Choosing a skill type.
Edit a resource's skills
- Open Configuration, then select Resources.
- Select the resource.
- Open the Skills tab to add, edit or remove a skill for that resource.
Expected outcome
The skill or resource reflects the change: a resource's skill list gains, loses or updates an entry, or a skill's resource list reflects who currently implements it.

Tip
Once you are inside Configuration, the left rail switches between Users, Calendars, Resources, Skills and UOM directly; you do not need to go back to the Configuration screen between them.
