Enabling Collaboration - Introduction
You may also want to work together with other team members, within the same "Workpackage", like the "Marketing Event" or a Project.
The LYNX Personal Task Manager allows you therefore to not only manager your own work (privately), but also invite any other person to become a member of a team.
In this article we explain first how you can invite another team member to become part of the team for a specific Workpackage or a project, in the LYNX role of a "Task Manager".
Once a Team Member has been "invited" you can also assign the Team Member to the Cards in the scope of the Workpackage or project.
LYNX will also take care of access rights, so you can be assured that work that is personal remains personal and access rights is limited to the work for which you have invited a Team Member.
Invite a Team Member(s)
A (new) Team Members is invited at two levels:
- A Team Member is granted access for a specific Workpackage (containing multiple cards).
- Once the Team Member is invited a card(s) can be assigned to the Team Member.
You can invite a new Team Member (through the role of "Task Manager") as follows:
- Open LYNX Scheduler and select the Workpackage for which you want to invite a Team Member
- Open the Workpackage, by clicking on the Workpackage. (the Workpackage is automatically selected)
- Invite a (new) Team Member as Task Manager, via the Task Manager Dialog at the bottom of the screen
- Click the Save Button.
The video below illustrate the steps listed above, in which Robin Porter is invited as a "Task Manager" for the "Marketing Event":
Team Member Assignments
Assign a Team Member to a Card
In addition to granting a (new) Team Member (Robin Porter) access to a Workpackage and its cards, you can also specifically assign Team Members to a Card, via the assignment field:
Your (new) Team Member Views (Lane)
As your new Team Member (Robin Porter) has now access to the Workpackage "Marketing Event", this Workpackage will appear as a Lane on his boards within LYNX TameFlow:
Robin has the possibility to see all cards within this lane, but obviously he also may select cards that specifically assigned to him. This can be done by using the filter panel, in which Robin can filter his cards only (show cards related to me):
