Start-group option

The "Start-Group" option, which make it possible to start a group of tasks which is protected by a Milestone:

• Start multiple tasks together from today
• Replace Feeding Buffer with a Milestone Buffer 

Task(s) need to start today

Within this example, we start with a summary task, which is a parallel task from the Current Longest Chain and which has a Feeding Buffer. These tasks don't have to be started yet, but for this example we because of a specific reason they need to be finished at the earliest so they need to start Today.

Milestone

Because these tasks need to have a (higher) priority, a milestone buffer will be added. This milestone buffer size is based on the input from the Critical Chain tab within Project Properties, see figure:

Start Group

To Start a group, you can select one/multiple (summary) tasks from a group a project that need to start today. Within the example below, we have selected the first summary task: Lecture Room. This includes all tasks that are part of the summary tasks, as shown within the figure.

When you select OK, a new situation is created in the Feeding buffer is transformed into a Milestone Buffer. The Deadline of the Milestone "pushes" the tasks as far as possible to the left side (today). See figure below:
