LYNX
Re-position of "Show load early" button.
The CCPM best practice is to schedule the feeding chain tasks with the Just in Time scheduling direction. However, in some cases with our customers, we notice that they start the feeding chain tasks earlier, but the task is still positioned in the future.
As users typically expect a started task is positioned at when it started, we added the following feature to LYNX, in the form of a “show tasks early button”:
Search bar in project properties:
In the project properties search bar, we have included the option to search through all project fields. This includes custom fields. Thus, if you have a custom field, you no longer need to filter via the column, but you can simply search in the standard search bar.
Improvement in OpenID setup:
An extra button in the Setup window under OpenID in Lynx "Migrate all domain users to Microsoft login by email" has been added. This will send an email to all users who are using the "normal" login (username/password). The email contains a link to activate their secure login (Microsoft login).
This is to prevent the issue where users couldn't login if the OpenID space setting was activated before all users have migrated. With the old method, users needed to access Lynx to secure their account, which was not possible due to the OpenID setting blocking them from logging in. Now they can use the link from their email to migrate to Microsoft login.
New method of checking open projects before closing:
Previously, when you close the LYNX Scheduler application while some unsaved changes are still open, you would receive a separate pop-up per item. For example, you will get a pop-up to save or discard project changes for all 3 projects you have open with unsaved changes.
The new behavior is a singular pop-up which give you the option to select all items at once.
Improvements:
- Calculation of feeding buffer % when float = 0 have been improved.
- Too many feeding buffers were inserted when there are multiple tasks in a chain leading to a singular task. This has been fixed such that the scheduler automatically understands that it's a chain of feeding tasks, and adds a singular buffer.
- In "My Activities", for tasks with multiple resource requirements where a user only has a role in 1 of them. The previous behavior was to grey-out the fields for the other resource requirements. The new behavior is that you do not see the other resource requirements of which you do not have a role in.
- Changes have been made to the "Calculate progress based on debuffered duration" space setting environment to reduce jumps between critical chains based on when the task was started. This was done by basing the critical chain calculation based on the debuffered mode, instead of the reduced buffered durations of tasks.
Fixes:
- A bug where workpackages with a skill would not auto-closed when all cards are closed, despite the space setting being selected, has been fixed.
- A bug where notes got deleted while being typed has been fixed.
- Changes were ignored when Lynx is closed and project has been changed on the portfolio page. For example, an unsaved project note.
- Issue with the default report "Data Reports / Project: Time monitoring" not being able to save as CSV has been fixed.
-
An issue where a summary task had a dependency with an external task. A child task of the summary task had the same dependency. However, the first dependency had a negative lag, while the second did not. Depending on the order in which dependencies were loaded, this lag was applied or not. The scheduler has changed such that a dependency is loaded once, and the 'largest' lag will be used while scheduling.
