LYNX
New Feature: Incremental Buffer Consumption
To mitigate large buffer consumption jumps at task starts, we have introduced the “Incremental Buffer Consumption” setting, available via the Space Properties (under Turn Features on/off). This:
- Smooths buffer usage over time.
- Prevents buffer spikes due to initial high ETTC/ Remaining Duration values.
- Supports better progress visibility for large tasks or work packages.
To enable the incremental buffer logic, it is required that also tracking progress based original (debuffered) duration is activated via the Space Properties (under Turn Features on/off).
In the example below the Incremental Buffer Consumption is 1 day (12 %), after LYNX has deducted a reservation of 4 days. More information about this new feature can be found here: Pragmatic CCPM with LYNX: Buffer and Progress Management Strategies
Improvement of Login Screen:
A new design for the login screen is introduced: A simple design with updated fonts and modernized layout, enhancing the look and feel of LYNX.
Securing account procedure
With the new login screen, comes a change to linking your account to Microsoft and Apple accounts. Previously, you had to select "Secure Account" via My Profile.
The new method is to select "Link my account to a login provider", then signing in with your email and password. Once you sign in, you will have a new pop up to connect your account.
Improvement of buffer visualization
What’s changing?
Buffer coloring (Feeding, Milestone, Project): Instead of coloring the entire buffer bar red or orange, only the consumed portion will now display these warning colors.
Why?
A fully red or orange bar can imply a project is entirely off track. By limiting the color to the portion actually used, we hope to provide a clearer, less alarming view of buffer status.
This change was triggered by the new feature, also be introduced in this release, of incremental buffer consumption. For more details see above.

What’s not changing?
Buffer calculations remain exactly the same. This is purely a visual update!

New report: Task Half Year Horizon:
A new report "Task: Load Overview - 6 months" is added under the operational reports. This report provides a skill-centric “calendar” of upcoming tasks, visualized over the next half-year. Each task is laid out by month, making it ideal for team meetings.
Purpose: Deliver a forward-looking view of workload by skill, so you can identify capacity gaps, prevent overload, and align on upcoming deliverables well in advance.
Data Scope: All tasks across your selected projects (Released by default), covering a rolling six-month window from the current date.
Improvements / Fixes:
- Reporting module: An extra field is added to the raw: Notes data table "ChangedBy" to capture the user who updated/changed the note.
- Reporting module: Improvement in the mailing server to reduce delays with the scheduled reports.
- AI Dashboard: General improvements and further development of the AI Dashboard.
-
General: Standardization of task duration naming across LYNX. For example, you can see a clearer view of dates with hovering over the task in the project window:
-
Kanban board: Ability to filter on workpackage custom fields on a Kanban board. As an example, if there is a custom filed showing the resource requirements, you can create a kanban board where you filter on specific skills. For example, using Contains(ResourceRequirement, 'Dev -') to show a kanban board with all skills that have "Dev - " in their name.
- Fix: Milestone tasks with a lag are better visualized with the lag included in the project window.
