This release introduces the new Lynx Focus App, alongside a range of usability improvements across Lynx-X and several enhancements designed to improve stability and day-to-day productivity.
LYNX
LYNX Focus App
This release marks the introduction of the new Lynx Focus App, a lightweight companion application designed to help users stay focused on execution while simplifying time registration.
The Focus App connects directly with Lynx and displays the tasks assigned to a user through their My Activities list. Users can focus on a single task at a time, start and stop time tracking with a single click, and register notes related to their work.
Instead of manually keeping track of time spent on activities, users can simply start working on a task and allow the application to track the time automatically. Bookings are recorded directly against the selected task, making daily hour registration easier and more accurate.
The Focus App is designed to support:
- Focused task execution
- Simple and accurate time registration
- Personal task management based on task priorities
- Daily booking and reporting of work performed
This is the first release of the Focus App. Additional information and a dedicated article covering the application's features and workflow will be available soon.
Desktop Scenario Wizard
The Desktop Scenario Wizard was created to give Resource Managers a simpler way to use the Scenario Wizard when they need a quick view of project movement and resource availability.
With this option, Resource Managers can see when projects move in the ASAP view, identify which tasks are scheduled to be executed from today’s line, and review resource availability based on the resource load with just a few clicks.
Please note that when this mode is used, de-buffered mode is turned on. Also, for this specific scenario, the reschedule is applied at the detailed project level, not at the stage level.
To use the Desktop Scenario Wizard, click the Scenarios button in the Project Portfolio, then select Run Scenario from Desktop. Next, choose the projects you want to include. Usually, released projects are selected. The selected projects will then be populated in the Pipeline filter.
After selecting the projects, choose which skills should be staggered by clicking the Leveling Skills button. Once you are satisfied with the selection, click Reschedule to view Lynx’s suggested schedule and calculation.
If you are satisfied with the result, click Save to save the changes.
Skill Availability by Property
You can now define skill availability based on specific property values in Lynx.
Previously, if you needed different availability values for different property values, you had to create a separate virtual skill for each variation. For example, if the availability of a skill differed by product type, you would need to create a different skill for each product.
With this new feature, you can keep one skill and define different availability values for each property value. This makes it easier to model skill capacity in a more realistic and flexible way.
Step 1: Create or update a skill with availability per property value
Go to the Skill section and open either a Virtual Skill or a Team Skill.
In the skill settings, select the option:
Availability is set per property value
After enabling this option, go to the Availability tab.
In the Availability tab, you can define availability at two levels:
- Global skill availability
This is the total availability of the skill. The availability values defined per property do not need to add up to the global availability to keep the flexibility. - Property-specific availability
This is the availability assigned to each property value or property value combination.
To add a property value, use the dropdown arrow to select the relevant property. Then click the plus button to insert it.
Once the property has been added, enter the availability value for that property value or property combination.
For example, you may define one global availability for the skill, while also defining separate availability values for different categories or combinations of properties.
Step 2: Assign the skill to a task in a project
After the skill has been configured, go to your project and assign the skill to the task where it is needed.
For example, you can assign Skill A to a specific task in the project.
Once the skill has been assigned to the task, right-click on the skill and select Properties.
This opens the Resource Requirement window.
In the Resource Requirement window, define the specific Skill Property Values that should apply to this skill for this task.
For example, you may select:
- Netherlands
- English
After selecting a value, press Enter to apply it.
When the required property values have been added, close the Resource Requirement window.
Step 3: Review the property-specific skill assignment
After closing the Resource Requirement window, the selected property values are applied to the skill on the task.
You can now see that the skill has been tailored to the selected properties.
For example, you can assign Skill A with different property value combinations, such as:
- Netherlands + English
- Netherlands + Dutch
These property values are then reflected in the Resource Load Chart.
The Resource Load Chart will use the availability values defined for those properties when calculating and displaying capacity.
This allows you to see how the same skill can be planned differently depending on the selected properties.

General Updates
Safer Project Deletion
To help prevent accidental project removal, an additional validation step has been introduced when deleting projects.
Before a project can be deleted, users must now confirm the action by entering the project description into the confirmation dialog.
This extra verification helps prevent unintended deletions caused by accidental clicks, shortcuts, or user error.
Internal Improvements & Stability
Several internal improvements have been implemented to improve maintainability, stability, and overall platform performance.
Internal Code Reformatting
Parts of the Lynx codebase have been refactored and reformatted internally to improve consistency and support future development efforts.
Dependency & Assignment Deletion Fix
Resolved an issue where users could receive an “Access denied” error when deleting dependencies or assignments together with a task through the ACR functionality.
AI Dashboard
Shared URL Improvements
Fixed issues related to shared AI Dashboard URLs where information was not consistently structured or displayed correctly between users and sessions.
This improvement provides a more stable and predictable shared dashboard experience.
