LYNX
External Dependencies
Projects can now be connected through External Dependencies, allowing tasks to be linked across different projects within the same portfolio.
With this functionality, a task can depend on a task or stage from another project. These connections are dynamically updated in both projects and are visually represented as dependency lines with a dot indicating the external link.
External dependencies are integrated into the scheduling engine. If a dependency cannot be met, Lynx will notify you through system messages. When determining whether a task is Ready to Start, Lynx treats external dependencies the same way as internal ones.
This feature is also supported in advanced tools such as the Scenario and Release Wizard, ensuring consistent behavior across planning processes.
As part of this release, the Dependencies Window has been improved to make switching between predecessors and successors smoother and more intuitive.
Filtering Improvements
Filtering across Lynx has been enhanced to provide a more flexible and user-friendly experience.
Date and time column filtering now takes the project calendar into account. You can define specific dates or date ranges, making it easier to create precise and meaningful filters.
- Direct filtering in the ID and Description columns without using the search button.
- New 'Select All' option for easier multi-selection.
- Individual filtering of resources and task managers instead of grouped views.
- Similar filtering improvements have been applied to the Booking section.
- Filters are now preserved when switching between views on the Project Desktop.
Booking Editor
A new Booking Editor has been introduced to provide a centralized overview of booking data.
This tool allows you to review bookings by user, project, or period in a structured and filterable interface. Whether bookings are made on project task cards or directly on users, the editor enables you to group and analyze booked hours in one place.
The calendar remains visible on the right side, helping you quickly understand time distribution while reviewing booking details.
Release Wizard – Improved
The Release Wizard has been enhanced to respond more effectively to rescheduling scenarios.
You can now confirm and adjust start and end dates more easily, and update the baseline schedule after completing your analysis. After you decide to release the project (via the Release button), the project will appear under the Released section of your portfolio.
AI Board – Official Release
The AI Board is now officially live and no longer in Beta. It is available as an additional tab in Lynx, positioned after Reporting.
We are continuously improving this tool and welcome feedback. If you have suggestions or ideas for widgets, please contact us at support@a-dato.zendesk.com.
Rooms
Widgets can now be organized into Rooms, allowing users to structure their AI workspace according to specific needs. For example, rooms can be created for team meetings, department reporting, or high-level planning sessions.
In addition, Temporary Rooms can be created for short-term or experimental work. These rooms are not saved and are cleared once the session ends, similar to using an incognito browser session.
Widget History & Reverting
Widgets now include a History tab. Instead of only building on the most recent prompt, you can review previous prompts and revert to earlier versions of a widget. This makes experimentation and optimization easier.
When sharing a widget via code, only the selected version is shared. The full history is not included.
AI Support for Project Stages
The AI Board can now access and analyze Project Stages. This expands the AI’s ability to generate higher-level insights by working with aggregated data such as overall timelines, resource estimates, financial data, and Virtual Drum planning information.
By including stage-level data, the AI can create more strategic and portfolio-oriented widgets.
LYNX-X
Return to Last Opened Items
Lynx-X now allows users to return to their last opened items when starting a new session. This configurable feature is especially useful for users who repeatedly work on specific pages or want to continue from where they left it last.
Project Window – UI & Stability Improvements
The Lynx-X Project Window has been improved to align with the UI standards used across other sections of the application. The interface is now more consistent, intuitive, and stable, while maintaining the full functionality of the Lynx scheduler.
Configuration Windows in Lynx-X
Configuration dialogs under 'Space' remain largely the same in functionality but have been aligned with the Lynx-X style and benefit from updated buttons, improved edit controls, and enhanced data control components.
Configuration sections under 'Objects', such as Calendar and User views, have been fully redesigned and are no longer popup dialogs, providing a more integrated experience.
Lynx-X is still under development. If you encounter any issues, please contact support@a-dato.zendesk.com.
REST API Updates
Updated Standards
- All datetime values now follow the ISO 8601 standard and include seven fractional second digits for increased precision and consistency.
- Project and task statuses now use string values instead of numeric values, improving readability and making integrations clearer and more maintainable.
- It is now possible to generate multiple active API keys. Previously, generating a new key invalidated the existing one. With this update, multiple keys can coexist.
MCP Support (In Development)
Initial support has been added for MCP (Model Context Protocol). An MCP enables AI systems to interact with applications through a structured interface, allowing AI-driven tools to communicate with the Lynx REST API.
- Retrieve, edit, or create calendars.
- Manage projects and tasks.
- Manage resource classes, resource requirements, and resources.
- Manage task dependencies.
Because data is processed by AI before reaching the REST API, some generated data may be incomplete or invalid. Updating or creating data through MCP should therefore be done with caution. Retrieving data is generally reliable.
Other Improvements & Fixes
Project selection and deselection behavior on the Project Desktop has been improved to provide a smoother and more predictable user experience.
