LYNX Tasks on TameFlow
We have an exciting new feature for publishing “LYNX Tasks” on TameFlow, in turn, allowing LYNX tasks to be published within JIRA. This feature is aimed for organizations who would like their team to work in a Kanban board fashion, not only for cards (subtasks), but tasks as well.
This feature means that you can create tasks with a specific workflow that fits your organization and teams. This can be used in TameFlow itself, or in JIRA if your team already works in JIRA. Of course, tasks are automatically updated between the project in LYNX, and the card in TameFlow, and in turn is synced in JIRA.
To use this feature, some steps are needed:
Preparation / Configuration:
A card type representing a standard LYNX Task should be created. At a minimum, the card type should contain the following fields: Original Estimate or Duration (OrgEst), Current Estimate or Duration (CurEst), and LYNX Task Workflow (or Status) (which equates to the Columns on the TameFlow board). Of course other fields can be added as needed such as a workpackage field "Task Priority".
For example, we will use "TameFlow Task"
To create workpackage fields, you need to create a unit of measure with a datatype "Workpackage" and select the field you are interested in. For example:
You can then use this new unit of measure as a card custom field:
Next, select the card type to use for TameFlow cards under the "General" tab in card properties to be this newly created card type.
Project Planning:
In your project, select the task which you want to publish on TameFlow. In the task details under the general tab, select the option “Show task in TameFlow”. Please make sure you are assigned a role to the task, for example, a task manager. If a task does not show in "My Activities", it will not show on the Kanban Board.
Results:
Now the task will appear on your TameFlow board with the values automatically filled in.
You can now choose how to update the Task Estimate; either via the Resource Requirements tab of the task, or update the duration of the card on the Kanban board. Note that the original estimate corresponds with the task “Estimated Time” and the current estimate corresponds with the task's “ETTC”.
Importing skill availability
It is now possible to import skill custom availability via copying and pasting cells from a spreadsheet. This simplifies the procedure for organizations where virtual skills have varying availability, and thus do not need to enter every date manually.
As an example, this is copied from Excel:
12/03/2025 | 6 |
14/03/2025 | 8 |
01/04/2025 | 3 |
And imported into LYNX:
Microsoft Entra ID Enhanced
Users can now enforce roles and login policies using Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) tenant IDs, not just traditional domain environments. All identity management capabilities previously limited to domain-based configurations are now equally supported via Entra ID tenants. This includes for example, enforcing sign-in through Microsoft accounts. Domain rules still take precedence over tenant ID rules as LYNX will first apply any domain-specific settings and only fall back to the Entra ID tenant’s policy if no domain rules are present.
Improvements / Fixes:
-
Further improvements to the AI Dashboard in general. For example, to give more reasoning and context information, for example, how it came to the results.
- When uploading a workpackage to JIRA without a "Client ID" set, the user will see a more friendly message dialog indicating the Client ID is missing.
- Improvements were made for the CLC identification in situations where negative lags exist between tasks.
-
Fix the wrap text of the pop-up when hovering over a task in the Gantt or the resource load.
- Staggering is now applied to virtual skills in the release wizard.
- Ready to start filter works correctly in My Activities.
- Fixes in resource leveling behavior.
- With the space setting "Always level resource assignment on skill", adjustments to the availability in the project's resource availability will be followed.
LYNX-X
There are many changes and improvements implemented and more are coming soon to LYNX-X!
This application is still in development, so please let us know if you find any issues on: support@a-dato.zendesk.com
Some amazing features worth mentioning:
Focus mode
In the TameFlow Kanban board, now there is a focus mode which filters all cards and only shows cards assigned to the user. This helps focus on your own work without being distracted by all the other work that needs to be done by other team members.
As an example, in "normal" mode, I see all cards from the workpackages I am assigned to:
However, with the "Focus" mode, I only see cards which I am assigned to:
Sort by workpackage
It is now possible to sort workpackages in the TameFlow Kanban board, not only by card fields. You can choose to sort workpackages by:
- CCPM Priority: This is the default order used to sort the workpackages such that workpackages with the highest priority are shown on top.
- Milestone deadline: Sort workpackages by milestone deadline to see workpackages with the nearest deadline on top.
- Alphabetic order: Sort workpackages by alphabetic order.
As an example, let's take 2 workpackages from 2 different projects: "D1 Product Development Project - Review" and "T1 Customer Project (ETO) - Build Prototype".
From the CCPM priority, the workpackage "Review" has a higher priority, as it is the first task on the current longest chain, while the project buffer has 52% buffer consumption.
Although the "Build Prototype" workpackage is also the first task of the current longest chain and has a deadline with a 56% milestone buffer consumption, the project buffer is still 0%.
Thus, by the default sort of CCPM Priority, will show the "Review" workpackage shows first, then "Build Prototype".
Now I can change the sort order to be by milestone priority, which will show the "Build Prototype" workpackage first, as the deadline for the task is 11 April, while the deadline for the "Review" workpackage is the project deadline which is on 6 June.
Pin Workpackages
It is now possible to pin workpackages in the TameFlow Kanban board. This will be remembered every time LYNX-X is opened. This would mean that important or commonly used workpackages can be pinned to the top of the Kanban board for convenience.
Remember past filters
Using the search is a very convenient method to find the cards or workpackages you are searching for. It is common for some users to use the same search each time they use their Kanban Board.
Copy and paste cards
You can now use CTRL + C and CTRL + V hotkeys to make copies of cards in the same workpackage. Simply select a card in the TameFlow Kanban board, use CTRL + C then CTRL + V!
Ability to filter on resources/skills
Right clicking on the Resources column in My Activities allows filtering on the resources and skills.
