LYNX
Deactivating dependencies via task lists (My activities and Active tasks)
We are excited to announce a new feature in LYNX that enhances task management flexibility. Task Managers now have the ability to start tasks even if their predecessors are incomplete, facilitating proactive project progression.
Upon attempting to start a task with pending predecessors, users will encounter a prompt with three options:
-
Yes: This deactivates the predecessor(s), allowing the task to commence without constraints. The predecessor lines are no longer visible in the Gantt chart, and the task is technically ready to start. The deactivated dependencies are marked as "inactive" in the project details, and can be reactivated by Project Managers or users with write access.
-
No: This starts the task without altering existing dependencies, maintaining the current network logic.
-
Cancel: This aborts the action, enabling users to make further adjustments or cancel the operation.
This enhancement empowers Task Managers to manage their tasks more effectively, promoting efficient project execution.
Improvements
-
Expansion to the "Project Dates Overview" report by adding data on the scheduled start and finish dates from the initial release, allowing for direct comparison with the current release dates. This enhancement enables you to easily identify any date changes resulting from project re-releases or modifications over time.
-
The new notes visualization now clearly distinguishes between start checks and end checks, providing a more clear understanding of task/card notes.
-
The option to display the load of started tasks at their early start position is now available not only in the multi-project resource load view, but also in the project's resource load.
-
A "Project Manager" column has been added to the messages tab, allowing you to quickly identify the responsible project manager and efficiently address any warning messages or errors.
-
Our REST API now offers an API key with unlimited duration. While not recommended for security reasons, this option is available for users seeking minimal maintenance by eliminating the need for annual API key updates.
-
The "Continuous Flow Diagram" report now displays data up to the current date, omitting future values. This adjustment reduces confusion previously caused by flat line views extending beyond today's date.
Fixes:
-
Space owners can now update task managers via the import wizard, a capability previously limited to project managers.
-
The total hours of a workpackage are now correctly displayed in hours instead of milliseconds in the cards view.
-
The order of load factor projects mixed with CCPM projects based on priority has been rectified to ensure accurate sequencing.
-
Workpackage task details now accurately reflect the correct size from cards and remaining hours, regardless of the type of resource requirement added. Previously, these values were only displayed for team skills with output.
-
Resolved an issue in the auto-complete feature for tasks with multiple resource requirements, ensuring proper ETTC reduction.
-
The realign button in the scenario wizard is no longer triggered automatically.
